Good day all,
This post is made with permission from the Host Nation:
This a precursor announcement on the 2025 Pulling Together Canoe Journey (PTCJ) that it will be taking place the summer of 2025.
First, thank you to the Host Nation; Chiefs, Matriarchs, honoured dignitaries for taking on the huge undertaking of hosting the 2025 PTCJ. We are all grateful and blessed to have been gifted such a great opportunity to travel across your traditional territory.
The Host Nation and planning committee have decided to release some core details knowing the canoe families will need the appropriate amount of time to plan. The PTCJ will take place in the Coast Salish Territories within Southern Vancouver Island. The 2025 PTCJ will take place from July 05 to 14th, 2025, with the 5th and 14th being travel days for all the canoe families. The PTCJ paddling days will end on July 13th, but the canoe families can stay until the 14th . The extra day will give the canoe families an appropriate amount of time to pack up, say their goodbyes, and if needed, catch the ferry back to the mainland.
The Host Nation and Planning Committee are working diligently to plan the core of the 2025 PTCJ. We are looking forward to continuing the valuable work of Pulling Together, building relationships of understanding as we canoe the traditional and unceded highways of the Salish Seas in July of 2025.
Appreciated,
Darryl Gray
President
